Richard said, “Copper is one of my favorite metals to work with. I have incorporated
it into many of my pieces over the past 40 years. The demonstration that I have
planned is the sinking of the center of a sheet of copper using only a ball peen
hammer on an anvil to create a bowl. It allows any individual to utilize this
process to achieve the same results with the minimal amount of tooling. I also plan
to texture the brim. The demonstration will be followed by a workshop on Sunday.”

Ali said, “Join me for a live demonstration of crafting a copper coffee scoop. I’ll
create a unique braided handle using copper wire, followed by fusing techniques to
shape a functional yet elegant scoop. I’ll also share practical tips for cleaning
and maintaining copper pieces to preserve their luster.”

Demonstration:
• Registration begins at 8:00 AM, the demonstration starts at 9:00 AM.
• Registration fee: $25 for members, $40 for nonmembers,
• Tailgating is encouraged.
• Bring things for IronIntheHat.
NOTE: No folded tickets. Any folded tickets that are drawn will be thrown away.
• Bring things for ShowandTell.
Don’t forget to put your name on anything you bring for ShowandTell.
• Lunch is on your own. There are several good restaurants nearby.
• Tailgaters, please consider donating to Iron in the Hat.
• The Copper Art Museum has an extensive collection of copper things which is quite
inspiring.

• Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. • The fee for the workshop is $100.

• Turn west (left) on AZ 89A (near the Home Depot)
• AZ 89A to Clarkdale Parkway.
• Turn north (right) on Clarkdale Parkway
• Clarkdale Parkway to 11th St.
• Turn left on 11th St. to Main St.
• Turn righ on Main St. Two blocks to the Copper Art Museum.

As always, safety glasses are required in the demonstration area.
Hearing protection, closed toe shoes, and long clothes of natural fibers are recommended.
