Event Details

Sam Rivera will host an Open Forge for the Arizona Artist Blacksmith Association at the Sculpture Tucson barn in Brandi Fenton Park from 9 to noon on Saturday, April 5, 2025

Sculpture Tucson is near the entrance to Brandi Fenton Park at Alvernon and River Rd. Turn into the Park then turn to the right almost immediately at the Sculpture Tucson sign. There will be an AABA Open Forge sign at the Sculpture Tucson gate. Call Sam at 520-591-4700 if you have trouble finding the place.

Sam doesn’t plan to feature any particular project this time, so come and work on whatever you’re working on at home now or whatever ideas develop at the open forge. You are also welcome to bring ideas and questions about a project you are working on or that you want to start.

Sam would like to encourage people to bring their own hammers and tongs if they have them. That will let more folks who don’t have a lot of tools yet to get to work as soon as possible on Saturday.

Admission is free, but donations to cover propane, donuts, etc. are welcome.

Safety glasses are required. (Ear protection, closed-toe shoes, and long pants are highly recommended.)
